The Solution

In the warmer months, ozone pollution is most severe because the heat and sunlight combine with trapped pollutants such as fumes from fuel, paint, tailpipes and vegetation to form ground-level ozone. Not surprisingly, the months of April through September make up our Valley’s longer-than-normal “ozone season.” The Environmental Protection Agency introduced new ozone standards in March 2008. These new ozone standards are more demanding than ever, and we need the help of all Maricopa County residents to make the air healthier to breathe.
